Thanksgiving with “Heroes”

Submitted on November 7, 2009 No Comment

Heroes” opens with a Thanksgiving feast at Noah’s apartment at DuPont Circle. He tries to make this holiday a festive one, but has little to be thankful for, since his wife left him and he is responsible for his daughter’s destructive educational journey. His holiday dinner is really just a “picture of the moment” event, with not much meaningful significance. Lauren Gilmore comes back into the scene to help prepare and/ or cook the dinner. As the episode continues, Sylar takes much longer than expected to reappear.

Heroes

She is obsessed in taking over Nathan’s whole being, but is rather slow at this process. She makes the transformation into Nathan’s body, but does not do a lot to change his actions. For example, Sylar permits Nathan to eat the turkey in its entirety, and also dessert. Next, Peter permits wolf, who is pretending to be his brother, to sleep at his apartment in New York. However, Nathan is really in a Virginia storage unit. After Sylar and Peter escape from Midland General Hospital, it can be seen that Peter does not acquire the gifted qualities that so possess Sylar. Peter does not get Sylar’s internal manipulative powers, however is empowered with the flying ability of Nathan. This makes fiord an interesting twist in the story line. Next, Hiro can be seen at the Sullivan Bros. Carnival where he is obsessed with Charlie, thus only considering Samuel to be the “Butterfly Man”. Lydia comes into the episode and is only concerned with the facts surrounding the death of Joseph Sullivan. She is wondering if Samuel is involved or if a federal agent is the culprit. Lydia, with the assistance of Hiro, learns the truth about the death of Joseph Sullivan. He is killed by his brother, Samuel, during a disagreement; however Hiro will not openly disclose this information for the threat of losing Charlie. Samuel turns the table to Edgar accusing him for the mishap, and Edgar quickly leaves for fear of his life. Next, Samuel convinces a carnie to attack Hiro, but Hiro vanishes and again appears as a cellmate of Lauren Gilmore at the psychiatric facility, where he reunites with the Indian scientist. Finally, Gretchan plays a surprise visit to Noah’s dinner ruining the festive celebration. The two past roommates become reunited and venture out into the world with Noah’s compass.
